"How Social Studies provides learning opportunities of student's values and attitude."

"Why should we study Social Studies ?

"How important it is in our daily lives ? 😊

Nowadays many of us spend more time on gadgets rather than books . I dont know if its just me or what , but  since I was in highschool  I literally dont like social studies , It’s not– the way it’s traditionally been taught is boring. Didn’t you hate history class when you were in school, memorizing all those meaningless dates and names and places? At the beginning of the school year, not one of my classmates typically names social studies as his/her favorite subject, and most students don’t even understand what the subject is about. That breaks our teachers  heart, and then she shared her thoughts ,knowledge, understanding , and those experienced that she'd been through . And at that time we didnt realized that we're enjoying the scenario that our teacher gave on us , and then we realize social studies is not that boring , I mean it can widen the mind of a students like us ,because history is all about studying the things that people were passionate enough to fight for and change.

The Learning opportunities of student's values and attitude through Social Studies.

Being aware of our values and attitudes is important because it helps us to: identify why we are doing or  what we are doing, identify what the consequences of our actions will be for ourselves or for the young person or colleague. consider other or better options.
Social studies instruction should challenge students to think about the events that have made our world the way it is: the lessons should be so engaging and interactive that no child could ever find it boring. Our teacher told us on the first day of school that by August, we will be describing ourselves as ‘history buffs’, because we are going to spend the year finding things from the past and the world around us that fascinate them to the point where they won’t be able to learn enough.
It show that the social studies teachers defined value by terms such as “esteem,” “human beings,” “social norms,” “social citizens,” and “national and moral elements,” all of which are closely related to  dictionary meaning.
Such responses reveal that the teachers were not completely aware of the definition of value and values education. In addition, the teachers preferred that the students learn about values, such as “respect,” “sensitivity,” and “responsibility,” and that family and teachers are the most effective factors in values education. These are followed by the environment in which the students grow, the school itself, and other related factors. Finally, although the teachers aimed to become role models in values education.
Value-based education is essential to develop an individual and help him/her lifelong in many ways: It gives a positive direction to the students to shape their future and even helps them to know the purpose of their life. ... Value education also helps the students to become more and more responsible and sensible.
The purpose of studying social studies is to enable students to understand, participate in, and make informed decisions about their world. ... It provides them with skills for productive problem solving and decision making as well as for assessing issues and making thoughtful value judgments.
By the help of Social Studies education is essential in supporting students to interact with difference within communities. . Also it helps student's to become better citizens and making student's aware of their roles and responsibilities ...

Therefor Social studies provides  learning opportunities of student's values and attitude , through showing how life goes through , how we people think or respect each dignity and support our equality, having fairness and justice in a good way . By this we've learned a lot of knowledge, students like us  ,can widen our minds ,our skills and can be more active and responsible for our communities, societies changes .
